my son

my son johnny strickland has got sent off to prison in mississippi since last week for a drug charge and he has 10 years first time offense on the drug charge,can i appeal that charge i do not know whcih prison he is in it is either rankin county or parcham but they will not let him contact me so i can know can u please help me thank you

If he entered a "Guilty Plea" it CAN be appealed but most likely one would need to file a Motion to Set Aside Plea and try to find a basis to set aside the entire plea process. If he was convicted following a jury or non-jury trial the verdict can be appealed. In Mississippi, the Department of Corrections would first hold him in the local jail until there was room for him in the "Rankin County" facility where he will be held until he is "classified" and then he will be sent to Parchman. He will be able to call you collect this weekend if he is not a troublemaker.
