The officer will have to persuade a district attorney to pursue the case and they will have to persuade a grand jury to indict you. You will then have the opportunity to have an attorney appointed to represent you. In the mean time, you need to perserve whatever evidence that may be useful. Focus on being able to prove the legitimacy of the condition that gave rise to the prescription, proof of what you did to deal with the condition without the prescription, actions to report the lost prescription, proof of your reputation for truthfulness in your community. Lastly, focus on obtaining statements attesting to the quality of your character. You might considering offering to view any video of the blonde who passed the prescription to help authorities identify and arrest him.

You need to hire an attorney to represent you. If you can't afford an attorney, and you have been indicted, you need to ask the court to appoint an attorney for you. It would be impossible for someone to advise you what to do on this via the computer. You need a real sitdown with an attorney to discuss the case, the evidence against you, and possible outcomes. I wish you the best with your predicament.
