can a company or police make you take a polygraph for money stolen out of a deposit if you did not have access to the safe at the time and you have not worked for this company for at least four weeks.

Employer is not prohibited from requesting a polygraph by the Federal Employee Polygraph Protection Act. The police cannot make one take a polygraph. See http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/posters/pdf/eppabw.pdf
