rights with durable power of attorney
How can the person with a durable power of attorney lawfully spend the money a single person has in various checking and savings accounts? I would like to be able to provide nursing home care through without completely depleting life-time savings.

Show the power of attorney to the banks. Use it to have checks issued to you on the accounts and have the checks identify you as agent for X. So when you sign the checks you are acting in your agent status for your principal.
