Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

2 separate states involved, which has jurisdiction?

I requested and was granted a divorce in Mississippi on January 29, 2000. My then ex-wife appealed the decision. Since that time, I have moved to Louisiana, to take another job. I recently received a letter from my attorney with a ruling from the Appelete court reversing the decision to grant me a divorce. I am filing for divorce in Louisiana at this time. If that is granted, will it be recognized in all 50 states? Which state would have jurisdiction?

If the divorce you get in Louisiana is valid under Louisiana law, then all states should give that judgment full faith and credit. However, you better dismiss your action in Mississippi, because if that case is still pending, Louisiana may decline jurisdiction.
