Name change of daughter

My daughter has my maiden name and has had no contact with her biological father, we never married, in over six years. She has never had a relationship with him. I recently got married and she wants to have the same last name as my husband and I. I have tried to find information on how to go about doing this but all I get is a bunch of run around. Can you tell me what the procedure is and where do I need to go first? My daughter is 14 years old.

You will need to hire an attorney to handle the litigation part of it, but if your husband adopts at the same time the bio terminates, you can do it all at once and save some money.
