Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

changed court date

I have filed a motion to modify custody and child support on my ex-husband. He told me that he has already changed the court date. Does his attorney have to notify me of this in writing? Is it acceptable for him to notify me by publishing it in the newspaper? Do I have to serve him with a new summons?

I guess it goes without saying, but I am not being represented by an attorney.

Re: changed court date

The attorney has to follow the rules with you the same as if you are represented by an attorney. Check with the court administrator to see if any changes have been made and object if you don't agree.
