Checking account- child support
My ex-wife ( of 4 -1/2 yrs) never took me off the checking account. I ask the bank to take me off in 6/02 when we seperated and I opened a new account. Yesterday I get a call from the bank that the account was 564.00 in the negative. How they got my home # off that account I do not know. THe bank tells me since I am on the account I am responsible also. OKAY - and to get off the account I have to get the account current then I may close it. Okay ? is . DO I go to the bank and pay the 564.00 and close it and then call her and tell her I took care of her business after 5 years?- I am in a good mind to pay the 550.00 I owe her in child-support toward her bank account debt. How will that look? I will be paying it to her , just thru the account that she wrote to the negative. And what if she continues to write checks on the the account after I close it . Of course I will tell her it is closed. What can I do?

Re: Checking account- child support
Make your child support check out to her. Deposit it in the account. Close the account. Your check from the bank when paid is proof of payment of support.
