Child Abandoment
My ex and I have physical joint custody of our 9 yr old daughter. He has been willing leaving for months at a time to work in CA. He is a nurse and jobs are not scarce in MS. Is this considered abandoment and could I petition the court for full custody based on this action.

A parent's rights to a child may be terminated if the parent wilfully, contumaciously, and obstinately fails to abide by child support orders of the court or otherwise abandons any relationship with the child. Traveling to a distant job for long periods is not enough to justify termination of parental rights.
