I am assuming you are asking about how the property would pass.

Here's a few points:

1. MS law does NOT recognize common law marriages.

2. MS law allows people to write wills and determine how their property should be distributed between family and friends.

3. If someone does not have a will, MS LAW will determine how the property is split. GET A WILL!!!!!!!!
