Court Date Reschedule
Is it possible to have a court date postponed by the defendant? I have a court date soon but I don't have any representation as yet. Thanks

This would strictly be up to the Chancellor to decide if he/she wants to postpone your court date or not. My guess is you have received a Rule 81(d) Summons and have very little time to respond. Most Chancellors will routinely continue a Rule 81(d) for any valid reason. Your lack of representation, is an excellent reason for a continuation. However, if that is why you are asking for the extra time, the next time you show up for court (most likely about a month later), you need to have your attorney with you.
