Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
If dad is not on birth certificate and has no legal rights, can the mother leave the state with the child without his say so even if he is looking to get rights? I don't want to be stuck in the state with him for the next 17 years and my question is can I get out and be okay and then where I go hire a lawyer and give him rights and what not but not be prosecuted for leaving the state?

There is no ban on travel. If an action has been filed in Mississippi, that is where the action will stay. It is a myth that if a custody agreement or order is issued in one state no one can leave the state.
Leaving would constitute a material change where custody could be reviewed
