Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
I am going through a divorce. My son has a neuromuscular disease and is farley costly from a medical stand point. My ex found an attorney and we are just going with a standard divorce. However they have entered into the papers that I will cover him on insurance and he will pay a flat fee of $300 a month in support. Right now he is paying the mississippi state standard of 14% which comes to 315. I questioned this with him and he called the attorney and said she told him that in mississippi it is standard to enter a flat amount. Is this correct? I feel like if the state has adopted a percentage then it should be fine to enter that percentage into the papers.
1 Answer from Attorneys
That is not correct and why you need an attorney to represent YOUR interests. There is MUCH more he owes in support. Get an attorney now
