Divorce

How do I start the process of divorce? Is there a waiting period before I can start? both parties have been residing out of state for the past 6 years. No property/custody disputes and no contesting.

If either of you continued to be a legal resident of Mississippi during the six years of absence, you will not have to wait six months to initiate a divorce in Mississippi. To get started you will need to consult with an attorney.

You have to have lived in MS for 6 months before the MS courts will have jurisdiction to do your divorce.
