Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
DNA testing.
Our friends wife is pregnant with a second child. The marriage has been rocky, and he is almost certain that this child is not his. She told him to give her $500.00 to have a test done, DNA. The question is...does HE give HER the $500.00 OR, do they go somewhere together to have this done? He seems to think that it should'nt cost this much either, so would you know how much these test normally cost? Thanks for any advice you give...

The price seems to be in the ballpark for three DNA blood tests. However, the cost will probably increase if he intends to use amniotic fluid or placeta blood. Also, there may be the possibility of using DNA swab tests as a less expensive alternative. Lastly, he might consider paying the DNA testing facility directly for the test in the event the wife does not follow through.
