Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
A Father's Rights
I have an 8 yr old son.His mom and him recently moved to California,a few months ago. I had to get the visitation papers amended once already before they left to hopefully insure my rights to see my son. His mother and I don't get along good. I bought my son a computer so that we could e-mail each other. When his mom gets mad at me, she will not answer the phone when I call. No one will. I have'nt spoken to my son in two weeks because of this. My e-mails go unanswered, yet she e-mailed my mother yesterday saying that I had sent her a threatening e-mail(which is totally un true). So I know at least that they are recieving my e-mails. My son was to fly over this summer to spend time with me in Florida where my mother lives. His mother e-mailed my mom and told her that because I sent her that e-mail that she wasn't going to let my son come and visit. She will not answer the phone so I can talk to my son and now she said that she wasn't going to let him come visit. Are these court papers that I have any good? Does she have control of when I can talk and even see my son, based on how she may feel about me at the time? If I take her back to court(I'm going to) what can I do to let her know that the papers mean something for the father?

If she's violating the visitation order, you can have punished for acting in contempt of court. Also, because of the changed circumstances, you can seek a change in the visitation order.
