Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
Finding wills and probates left for and from me by family.
My grandfather recently passed away. I have had no contact with him for many years because my grandmother tried to keep us apart. When my grandfather passed i had no knowledge whatsoever and just so happened i found out on my own. I believe that my grandfather left a will or something of that short for me, but my grandmother is keeping information from me about it. How do I find out if my grandfather left me a will or estate in my name without my knowledge and how do I claim it?

Check court records to see if an estate was opened or if a will was admitted to probate. If not, check with a local attorney to see if you can open an estate, you will need to give notice to al potential heirs. If you know who your grandfather used for an attorney you might go to them and ask if a will was left. They may not want to talk to you about that but should if you were named in the will.

Its against the law to conceal a will. You can force the issue by having your grandfather's estate administered. However, you should first confront your grandmother about your belief that she is withholding information you should have. You should also take along with you somebody your grandmother respects.
