Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

jurisdiction

if your divorce is granted in Mississippi and your ex and child has moved to the state of Louisiana and you are now being taken back to court, can the jurisdiction be moved to Louisiana, even though in the divorce decreed it states that the county in Mississippi that the divorce was granted has jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction of child custody matters moves to the new state of residence six months after the child moved there. Jurisdiction for other matters remains in Mississippi.

If you still live in Mississippi, jurisdiction should be in Mississippi. If there are minor children that have moved to LA then jurisdiction could be transferred to LA.
