Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

can I modify child support aggremment on my own

I realize now I was an idiot to sign my orginal divorce aggreement, the judge awarded her 14% (state guideline) or $500.00 per month whichever is GREATER plus I must pay 100% health ins. and medical bills, my income has changed and I cannot afford to do this and provide my son with things he wants/needs (sporting equipment, etc) since my ex has admitted to me she uses all of the child support to make her mortgage payment. Can I petition the court to change it to 14% of my present income and if so how do I go about this.

Thank you

In Florida - there must be a substantial change in circumstances to warrant a change in child support. Contact an attorney in your area to find out the law there. You do not have to retain an attorney, and go at this alone but you need to know the law with respect to a downward modification of child support.
