Re: can I move back home?
The U.S. Constitution prevents a divorce decree from restricting a parent's travel between the States. However, the State Court that has jurisdiction over a minor can restrict the minor's right to travel. If your divorce decree is silent on your right to travel, you can go. However, your moving will affect the father's ability to conduct visitation, so the Court may change the both parents' rights and obligations regarding visitation. You should consult with the father beforehand and try to come to a reasonable accomodation. Be prepared for the possibility that you may have to return to the State for a hearing to modify the visitation provisions of the divorce decree.
