Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Rights of Father

My ex-husband wants to sign his rights to our two children away. This is fine by me. He never sees them. He does pay support but I still want him to sign them over to me. Is this possible or does his rights have to be signed over to someone willing to adopt them? His child support is court ordered but like I say I would like for him to sign his rights over to me. Is this possible?

Re: Rights of Father

Termination of parental rights also terminates the parent's obligation to pay child support and the child's right to inherit from that parent. Before the court will terminate a parent's rights it must be persuaded that the action would be in the child's best interest.
