Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

short marriage....chances of alimony?

My husband accepted a new job and left the US headed to Brazil on Sept. 14, 2001. On his departure he stated, ''I'll be gone for six to eight weeks and then I'll be back for you.'' Well, it is now December 22, and still, he has not returned. He claims visa problems have caused the delay and he'll be home in Jan. or Feb. This has caused much grief and now he wants a divorce. What are my chances of receiving alimony? We've been married for one and a half years, not long. He did'nt want me to work nor do I have a college degree. Yes, I have worked before but have been out of the workforce for 3 years. Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated.
