Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi
Which state law do we follow?
My ex-wife and I divorced 5 years ago in the state of MS. We have one daughter. My ex-wife has primary physical custody and we both have joint legal custody. Shortly after our divorce she left MS and moved 8 hours away. Our decree stated that I would be responsible for travel, but I never expected her to move. For 2 years I traveled every other weekend 16 hrs roundtrip, paid for hotel, etc. I finally moved to the same city b/c I couldn't afford the expenses. Six months ago I moved to my hometown to be closer to family and my daughter is now 4 hours away. My ex refuses to meet me halfway. She's also threatened to move across country again. She has moved my daughter 3 times in one school year. She can't keep a home, a job and she moved to a city where there is no family or support besides her for my daughter. I am scared for my daughter and fet up with the instability and lack of cooperation. I can hardly talk to my daughter on the phone. Where do I turn to change ''the rules'' as my ex refers to them? MS, the state she now lives in or the state I live in (TN)? Please help!

Re: Which state law do we follow?
You need to fight it out in the last state that the child lived in for at least 6 months (it might be the state she nows lives in).
