Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

subpoena for a deposition

I have recently been summoned to be deposed in a neighboring county in an ugly divorce case. Do I have the right to be deposed in my own county or in the county that my attorney (should I hire one) practices instead of the county that the divorce case is being heard? If I did hire an attorney would he or she be permitted to attend? If he or she had a conflicting appointment, could the deposition be rescheduled?

Re: subpoena for a deposition

Miss Rule of Civil Procedure 30 allows the parties to take the deposition at any time or place. However, the rule also allows the witness to move for termination or limitation of the deposition if it is being conducted in bad faith or in a manner that unreasonably annoys, embarrasses or oppresses the witness.
