Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Waiting Period

I have completed, and handed to my ex, divorce-decree papers to get an uncontested divorce from my wife of less than one year. We have no children and no marital assets. I have been living outside of the marital residence for 6 months.

She refuses to sign. Living in Missisissippi, must I file a contested divorce to make this happen or is there a time limit that says if she does not sign within "x" days, the papers become valid.

Also, I need to move to another state for a job. Will this affect anything?

Re: Waiting Period

a divorce cannot be had by her failure to sign the papers that you have given her if the papers have not been filed in court. a divorce must be filed in the state where one of the parties is domiciled.
