Possible law suit?

My father was taking a medication last year that contributed to him developing a bleeding ulcer that almost killed him. Does he have grounds for a suit of any kind?

Re: Possible law suit?

Recent legislation in or around 2003 has made a medical malpractice suit very difficult in Mississippi and damages are limited to $500,000 for all pain and suffering and lost enjoyment of life. Some lawyers are saying that medical malpractice suits have been effectively stopped in Mississippi because the potential expected damages no longer justify the cost of litigation. To get started, all medical records must be collected, a report probably must be obtained from an expert physician, required notices must be sent, and the suit must be filed within time limits.
