Disturbing the peace

My son is disabled and was getting harrested by a guy in walmart, he called the city police for help and protection, because guy stated he would beat his ass and kill him. He had 2 other contacts before this. The police office refused to go look for the guy and, asked him what he said, when he said ''ass'' to the officer he told him he couldn't say that, but he kept asking him, so he arrested my son for public profanitry, then reduced to disturbing the peace. Now we would like to fight this injustice but can't affoed an attorney. is there anyway i can represent my son in court, not being an attorney?

Obtain the pro bono services of an attorney, be appointed as your son's guardian ad litem, or possibly as his interpreter under the Americans with Disability Act if your assistance would be considered reasonable accommodation.
