Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Mississippi
Hazardous mailbox support post
My neighbor (across the street) has a rural mailbox attached to a 'T' shaped post on my side of the road (between my property and the pavement's edge). One side of the twin horizontal beams support the roadside mailbox, the other ends extend well into my property and have been saw-cut into sharp, dangerous points that could cause severe injury. What recourse do I have if said neighbor refuses to remove this hazard? Post Office regulations don't seem to mention any concern on their part regarding such a potential health hazard.

Re: Hazardous mailbox support post
If it's not on your property, you can only ask your neighbor to make the mail post safer and you can place some something on your property to protect you and your guests from being injured on the other person's property. Also, if your neighbor refuses to cooperate, you can remind your neighbor that a time may arise when he or she may need your cooperation.
