Legal Question in Health Care Law in Mississippi
Approximately 20 years ago I sold a 10K life insurance policy for less than $1K to a viatical settlement company that is no longer in business. (Kelco Inc, Lexington, KY) The Owner of Kelco has since been convicted of conspiracy and fraud. Now it seems some these policies have been sold to other companies. 20 years later, I'm getting correspondence in the mail asking me to sign documents allowing them access to my doctor and medical records. It's only coming to my name and address but they're asking for phone number, social security number, personal references and contacts in addition to the two page legal document giving them access to my medical history and records. Am I legally obligated to sign these forms?

Unless you previously agreed to sign the forms as a condition of the viatical settlement, I doubt you could be obligated to sign the forms.
