employee parking

my employer makes us park in a designated spot and cars have been broke into and ran into, they have servailance cameras but say they are not recording, i do not feel that my car is safe parking there are they responsible in any way for the safty of my property, or can i refuse to park there.

While we don't practice in MS, as a general proposition, your employer is required to provide you with a safe work environment. However, whether the parking lot that you use is actually within the employer's obligation is unknown from the facts you've provided, and ultimately, if you don't feel safe there, then you should locate (if possible) alternate parking arrangements.
