breaking apartment lease

if you break an apartment lease because of feeling unsafe the apartment complex has been robbed and we recently learned that the area we are in is not a safe area we recently moved from mississippi to texas and was told by the apartment leasers that the area was very safe

What you are describing is not a valid reason for breaking a lease. The apartment complex is not a guarantor of safety. Moreover, what each person may or may not deem safe is subject to interpretation. You can be held liable for breaking a lease under those circumstances.
