Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Mississippi
suspected drug use by a tenant
I own a home in Mississippi which I am renting. I am now living in Austria. I have been recieving e mails from the tenants wife and his cousin in which they are suggesting that the tenant is using drugs and not working. When I return to Mississippi to check on these facts, Do I have the right to call the police if the tenant does not choose to open the door? Can the police force him to open the door to me?

DO you have a written lease? MOst leases contain a reasonable inpection clause (after notice).
Other than than, police won't show up for an inspection based on second hand information unless its from a reliable informant.
