Legal Question in Military Law in Mississippi

Legal action against awol/deserter personnel

What is the legal recourse of an enlisted person in the Air Force after being awol for over 1 month? can the jaa be trusted to work in the individual best interest? What is the usual punishment for awol/deserter personnel?

Of course, by now if you are still out reading this, with the time lag, more than thirty days has elapsed. You have been dropped from the rolls of your unit and declared a deserter. Whatever you do, keep your military i.d. card, do not lose or destroy it, and TURN YOURSELF IN TO NEAREST MILITARY FACILITY.

There is no way to tell you whether or not they will offer you an Art. 15, a discharge or a court-martial. You have little or no choice as to the last two. JAG can be trusted to tell you your rights and to see that you get them perfunctorily. You had best hire a civilian attorney familiar with the military. The Air Force has no sense of humor when it comes to these things.
