Legal Question in Personal Injury in Mississippi

In February of this year, I was hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. As a result, it totaled my truck out. I have a torn ligament in my arm, but didn't need surgery. I have scars on my face, and on the same arm that has the torn ligament. I received an estimate of how much it would cost to fix the scars from a plastic surgeon. The estimate was right under seven thousand dollars. The doctor I have been seeing about my arm says that it is okay for me to be released, even though I still have pain in my arm. The driver of the 18 wheeler that hit me was on drugs at the time. He told me on the scene of the wreck that he could not pass a drug test, although he was not drug tested at all. He has a history of drug use. He was even arrested just two months after the wreck for crystal methamphetamine. My question to you is, how much do you think my case is worth? I haven't got a lawyer yet because my aunt has advised me not to, but I am not sure if I will get as much if I do not have a lawyer. Thank you very much for your time.
