acreage discrepancy
i recently purchased a piece of land that was advertised as 2.59 acres, and the real estate agent said was 2.59 acres. today i found out that the plat is only 1.3 acres. what can i do about not getting the acreage i was led to believe i was buying.

Generally, having a survey done before one buys property is prudent. However, since your purchase turned out to be about 1/2 of what you thought you were buying and what was held out as being sold, you might be able to have the transaction nullified based on mutual error of fact, making the contract voidable. Seek local counsel who is good with land law and contract law.
