Right to run a generator

I rent a house that is distant away from other neighbors , Is it legal for me to run a generator for purposes of gaining air while i work out matters with the electric company . Nobody has complained and you cannot hear the generator unless your right up on it so its not making noise to the point that the neighbors can hear from in their homes. Is this legal to run or not

There are a variety of ordinances and covenants which may have to be considered in responding to your question. Moreover, it may involve questions of common law and statutory criminal law depending on any risk of injury your generator may pose to others.
