speeding ticket
i received a speeding ticket on 10/12/1987 in simpson county mississippi. i never paid the fine. now after 16 years i get a letter from a collection agency giving me 30 days to pay, and that my driving license has been suspended for the last 15 years. can a mississippi court suspend an arizona license. i have renewed them a few times here in arizona. mi family and i left mississippi in october, 1987. case # 033-388-1

There is no statute of limitations for the debt and the States have a compact that requires your home State to suspend your driver's license if it would have been suspended had the speeding violation been committed in your home State. You will need to check with your State driver's improvement office to determine what your risk will be for not paying the claim.
