Kids share after fathers death
My father died 3 years ago and he remarried and to my knowledge he didnt have a will. My stepmother wont give me and my sister anything and she told the insurane where my father worked not to give out any information unless it was to her my father has all kinds of assets and im wondering by law are me and my sister entitled to anything and what do we need to do? can you please help us?

In Mississippi, the children and the spouse share equally in the estate of one who dies intestate. Retain an attorney in the county in which your father lived and have yourself appointed as adminstrator of the estate. You will then have access to all his documents authority to inventory the estate, and the responsibility to distribute the estate according to the law,
