Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Mississippi

land heirs

My brother in law and sister who was married once and once only. He died first, no will, and my sister, who never married again, now deceased, no will, had no children nor any children adopted. The land was sold to them from my side of the family.

Question. Can I file claim to this land as a heir? I have been paying the property taxrs for 10 years. I do have other brothers and sisters so do I have to include them or file for myself as sole heir?

Re: land heirs

You can initiate administration of the estate but you will have to share the estate with your sister's other heirs unless they agree to waive their interests.
