Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Mississippi

Troubled Heir

How can I hire a Mississippi attorney? I am concerned about a property that my blood aunt (d-1998) and uncle died (d-1982) who raised me as their son, left in Prentiss, Mississippi AKA Jefferson Davis County. What can I do to establish my legal rights to that property? Also, There are people living on that property who are not paying a cent of rent to live there. My son went to Prentiss in March 2007 and told these people to send the rent to me. They haven't and it has dragged on ridiculously. How can I establish my rights to this land and any possessions, she may have left? The Will that my aunt left naming me as sole heir has disappeared.

Re: Troubled Heir

I would recommend finding out what county the property is located in and then contacting the local "bar" association. Most bar associations have attorney referral services. If that doesn't work, try some Mississippi law schools for suggestions on referrals.

Good luck to you.
