Legal Question in Disability Law in Missouri
27 years ago I was in an accident where my knee was damaged. Last year I gave my boss a doctor's note stating that I should not be walking stairs. This summer they are moving my room ( I am a teacher) where I have to use stairs. Do I have any recourse and how long does the statue of limitations last?

You may have a claim under the ADEA, for a reasoanble accommodation as to ambulating to and from your work site (classroom). They may give you access to an elevator, install a chair lift or put you in a another room or school where you do not have to use stairs. But, if your doctor's note says "should not use stairs", and not "cannot use stairs" the school may not have to do anything other then let you use some of yoru break time(s) to get to and from teh room. If you are very concenred, then you shoudl meet persaonlly with a disiability attorney in your area. Give them all yrou medical data, and make yourself available for follow-up questions. Your time to bring a claim may be short.
Since it has been twenty-seven years since your accident, I do not know of a single state in the US that would still recognize a legal claim against the person that injured your knee back then.
Good luck
