i need to know what suggestion of death is

im in a case involving a appeal here in missouri we had oral arg now a lawyer has files a suggestion of death and i want to know what that is.my case involves child support and visatation

When a party to a lawsuit dies during the pendency of the lawsuit, the lawsuit does not normally just "go away." It remains a valid claim against the estate. Therefore, a "suggestion of death" is filed whenever a party dies so that the estate may be substituted for the party who was named.
