Legal Question in Banking Law in Missouri
Joint Checking Liability
My sister has her name on our elderly mother's checking account so she can help keep track of bills. Mom also had a few unknown high debt credit cards. How does my sister protect herself and her credit in the event Mom cannot pay her bills? Can she be held liable for the debt?
