Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Missouri

My fiancee has filed bankruptcy. When we get married can the creditors come after me for those debts? Also, due to his unemployment and only drawing unemployment he filed bankruptcy and this has also made him behind on child support. Can my income be taken for that back child support after we are marred?

No, you are not liable for your fiancee's creditors for his past debts. (I'm assuming you don't have any joint credit cards or other joint obligations with him.)

Your income cannot be taken for child support. However, if the two of you file a joint tax return, you may need to take extra steps to make sure that your portion of any refunds is not seized. I'm not a tax expert, so I would suggest you consult a tax person, and perhaps a consultation well before "tax season" would be desireable.
