Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Missouri

If I file for bankruptcy, can companies that are suing me still collect or garnish my wages? My divorce atty for fees not paid, the bank from the balance remaining after they repo'd my car and the apt complex for the balance due after they evicted me is what I am referring to.

Debts that have progressed to being formal legal judgments can still be written off in bankruptcy. However, once a creditor has a judgment your wages can be garnished and/or bank accounts and other property seized to satisfy that judgment. There is no legal protection until after the bankruptcy petition is actually filed. Preparing a bankruptcy petition is not a 20 minute task. You need to contact a bankruptcy attorney to get the process started at least two months ago.
