Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Missouri
I won a small claims judgement in March. I filed for garnishment of wages which was supposed to be fulfilled in 180 days. I was expecting a check from the employer, but instead just received a notice that he has filed chapter 7. Does Chapter 7 bankruptcy include court judgements?

Yes. Sorry.
Under some limited circumstances, some debts may not be dischargable in bankruptcy. But this doesn't fit into a readily identifiable priority debt category such as recent taxes or child support, and I can't tell from your question exactly what the judgment was based upon. If the person injured you while s/he was drunk, or s/he incurred indebtedness when s/he knew (being stupid doesn't count) s/he wasn't going to be able to repay the debt, then, maybe, you still have some hope. There are a few other categories, and if you receive a notice to file a Proof of Claim, you may get part of the money. Otherwise, you have my sympathy, but no cash.
