Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri

Used car

I bought a car a week ago in MO. When I started it the engine knocked a little bit. I asked the dealer if the knocking noise was a rod he said no that it was something loose that could be eaisly fixed. So I bought the car. As I was driving home the knock got louder I took it to a mechanic he said it was a rod I took the car to five different mechanics and they all said the same thing that its going to cost around $2000 to fix it. I called the dealer to ask if I could bring the car back and get my money and he said no way. I signed a AS-IS no warrenty ticket that said motor noise on it. I gave him $1000 down and owe 2,500 he wont even help me fix it. When I was there I said I really wanted that car and that I would get it (before I started it}and when I called him he said ''well you said you get what you want, looks like you got what you wanted'' which was a smack in the face.

So what I want to know is there anything I can do at least have him pay half for the repairs or take it off what I owe him? Im paying for a car I can not drive Its a month before christmas and I have two children this car is going to break me. Please help.

Re: Used car

Well, your problem is in Missouri and not Iowa. I honestly do not know whether you can get off the hook on this. A call to the Missouri attorney general's office might tell you whether you have any recourse against this dealer.
