Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri
carefully starting a partnership business
I'm starting a Dishnetwork/directv business and need advice about how to set it up in my brothers name so that he is protected from any lawsuits down the road.
My credit isn't high enough to put it in my name with Dish so he's going to help me but only with paperwork he is not a real partner I alone will manage it all.
Sales business liscense for Joplin Mo, and retail listing with Dish will be in his name I have another business already in my name to be used as a subcontractor but equipment purchasing for Dish retailership will be in Johns name so how can I be sure and protect him? Don't want him to take responsiblilty, please help with any advice and reassurance....

Re: carefully starting a partnership business
I need more information to give you a good answer, but one idea would be to set up a trust in your brother's name with you as the beneficiary. There are other ideas as well, such as setting up a limited liability company, but I would need more information.
