Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri

Can I be charged for an appointment?

Two friends and I recently made an apointment with a day spa. Unfortuneatley we couldn't make the appointment, and we didn't cancel 24 hours in advance. Now the spa wants to charge me $90 for services I never utilized. Can they legally do that? What are my options in preventing them from charging my bank account for those funds. Thanks for your time and concern reguarding this matter.

Sincerely,

Concerned Individual

Re: Can I be charged for an appointment?

If you gave them your credit card to hold the reservation, my guess is that they charged you for the broken appointment if you did not cancel in accord with their policies.

You can contest the amount with your credit card company, but that may simply make you liable in small claims court.

You could also sue them in Small Claims Court for a refund claiming you didn't get what you paid for, and claiming that they were unjustly enriched.

Best of luck to you.
