Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri

what circumstances can a company garnish your wages. I have a car company threatening me at work represent theirself as a tow truck company call me names tell me i should pay my bill, the list goes on i told them i would like to work with them if they could just lower the payments and they refuse to work with us this has been going on for quite awhile.. please help

A creditor has to obtain a Judgment in court before they can file a garnishment. If the company threatening you are not he original creditor then they might be in violation of the fair debt collection practices act.

The other attorney is right on point here. Before a creditor can garnish wages, it has to go to court and obtain a judgment against you. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
